The Anton Zaletaev Quartet will play John Coltrane’s compositions, Zaletayev’s Teacher Trane, devoted to Coltrane, and Yakov Okun’s Midnight Sun.
Anton Zaletaev is a saxophonist, flute player, composer and a member of several jazz projects. His compositions blend Dixieland with jazz fusion and mainstream jazz. His debut performance in 1993 won him an award at the National Youth Jazz Contest in Rostov-on-Don. From 1992 to 1995 he played in clubs with pianist Ivan Sherbakov in the jazz fusion project Letniy Sezon. In 1993 he started playing with the Vladislav Kadersky Orchestra, joined the Georgy Garanian Orchestra in 1995 and played in German Lukyanov’s ensemble Cadence Millennium from 2000. Zaletaev has played with Yakov Okun and Viktor Yepaneshnikov, American musicians Lew Tabackin, Lew Soloff, Alex Silyagin, Johnny Griffin and Valery Ponomarev, as well as in the Igor Butman, Oleg Lundstrem and Viktor Livshits orchestras and the ensemble Crazy Rhythm.
