An Independent Exhibition: Personal Experience. An Open Class with Garage Teens Team

DESCRIPTION

Garage Teens Team—an eighteen-month-long project aimed at engaging teenagers in museum work—is launching a series of open classes for teens. This year, the education program for Garage Teens Team participants includes a series of open classes.

In the first class Diana Salakheddin, a member of the first Garage Teens Team, will talk about her experience organizing independent exhibitions and discuss practices that can help participants bring their own projects to fruition. What if you want to organize an exhibition, but don’t know how to do it or what it should be about? Diana will describe her exhibition series HZ, where she got her ideas from, the problems she faced, and how her project changed as she worked on it. Participants will work on the questions that any young curator has to face and try to develop their own exhibition plans.
