The Froth on Our Days. From Chaos to Cosmos: An Artist Talk by Nika Chernyaeva
Froth on the Daydream is the title of a blog that artist Nika Chernyaeva has been writing since 2017 to try and organize the chaos of life and trace the logic behind the development of her own creative work. Nika will share the results of her introspection and talk about her transition from rational sociology to irrational painting and whether documenting reality does help to ground oneself in life.
Nika Chernyaeva (b. 1985, Moscow) graduated from the Department of Sociology at Moscow State University (2008), the Institute of Contemporary Art (Moscow, 2011), and the Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art at Moscow Museum of Modern Art (2015). She lives and works in Moscow.
The Frontier of Contemporary Art and Theater: What the Border is Made Of, Who Crosses It, and How: A Lecture by Eldar Ganeev
Artist Eldar Ganeev will talk about the evolution of the performing arts and their genres over the last hundred years and about the new—often hybrid—forms explored by artists, directors, actors, and performers. His protagonists will include directors Romeo Castellucci, Jan Fabre and Heiner Goebbels and artist Anne Imhof.
Eldar Ganeev (b. 1979, Kobrin, Belarusian SSR) is an artist, curator, and composer. He was a co-founder (2009) and member (until 2018) of the art group ZIP (together with Evgeny Rimkevich and Vasily and Stepan Subbotin) and a co-founder of the Krasnodar Institute of Contemporary Art (KISI). Ganeev is a winner of the Anatoly Zverev Prize (2021). He lives and works between Moscow and Krasnodar.
