The last Artists for Children meeting of the season is part of the public program for Garage Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art and introduces young visitors to the work of ZIP group from Krasnodar, who are featured in the Common Language section of the exhibition. Communication with the spectator, and the role of the audience in art are among the key themes in the group’s practice.
For the exhibition at Garage ZIP group organized a 1.5 ×1.5 School—an improvised school, where visitors could learn about the history of art by visiting a series of unconventional workshops, which included dancing, drawing, lying down, and even preparing a pot of instant noodles.
In this meeting, ZIP artists will tell children about the story of their group and their key projects, answer questions, and invite kids to try and find the place of the human in an environment by building an installation and placing the human inside.
