DESCRIPTION

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art presents a special event for members of the Museum’s loyalty program offering them to be the first to see the new comprehensive exhibition The Coming World: Ecology as the new Politics 2030–2100 and mark its opening with a rooftop party.

The project The Coming World: Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100 suggests rethinking nature and our relationships with it—as we face either the already ongoing, or soon-to-be-approaching environmental catastrophe. A show that is going to occupy the entire Museum space will feature historical works along with those created specially for the exhibition by over fifty Russian and international authors.

GARAGE card holders have the opportunity to become the first spectators of The Coming World: Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100, experiencing the show with professional guides. A series of performances and a public talk are also on offer. The evening will conclude with Garage Night on the roof of the Museum.

On June 27, it will be also possible to join the loyalty program at a reduced price by purchasing membership of any level with a 10% discount. GARAGE card benefits include free priority entry to exhibitions and discounts on tours, education courses, screenings and concerts, purchases at Garage Bookshop and Garage Café, as well as invitations to special events. Benesse Art Site Naoshima — Contemporary art's power to stimulate people and transform the region. A lecture by Soichiro Fukutake and Akiko Miki

Benesse Art Site Naoshima has created special spaces unlike anywhere else in the world since 1987, on Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima—three isolated islands in the Seto Inland Sea—by placing art and architecture in the midst of the natural beauty and distinctive local cultures of the islands. The aim is to give visitors opportunities to reconsider the idea of "Benesse=Well-Being" through encounters with art and the pristine Japanese landscape, and by interacting with the local people.
