Katja Sudec will also take part as a speaker in Moscow Forum’s Culture. Look Into the Future, October, 15–18 at Manege Central Exhibition Hall, Moscow.

Katja Sudec, an artist and expert in educational work for art audiences, is project manager of COoperate and AKTIV.
Ana Krepel-Velemirović is a coordinator of multi-sensory tours within the framework of the Coordinate Project, and an expert in the democratization of the public sphere and demarginalization of different population groups.

YURI ALBERT AND PAINTINGS FOR THE BLIND

Commentary: Anastasia Tarasova

Anastasia Tarasova presents a short simultaneous commentary to a video of Tour with Eyes Blindfolded, a performance by Conceptual artist Yuri Albert.  Through this performance, Albert examines the problems of visual culture. What if art could be invisible? How could the image be translated into text? 

Anastasia Tarasova is an art historian and research associate of Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.

MOSCOW BEYOND SIGHT

Lecture. Anja Winter

Anja Winter will explore how blind and visually impaired people interact with the city. What is the difference between a guided city tour for visually impaired people and a typical guided tour for the average tourist?

Anja Winter is an expert on tactile tours and a museum tutor in working with blind and visually impaired visitors and achieving the inclusive organization of the exhibition space.

ART – BETWEEN THE SEEN AND THE UNSEEN

Lecture and workshop. Evgen Bavčar

Evgen Bavčar will describe alternative opportunities for visitors limited in direct access to objects of visual art. How can we apply verbal mechanisms and tactile sensations, and explain the effects of light and shade, color and other characteristics of visual objects? Bavčar will present examples from world-leading museums, cinema, and his own experience as a conceptual photographer.

Evgen Bavčar is a doctor of philosophy, and author of a methodology for making the visual arts accessible to the blind and visually impaired.

TOUCHING SCULPTURE: PRACTICES OF INTERACTION

Workshop analysis. Anna She

The director of SELF art-therapy studio will present a detailed analysis of her two-day workshop Touching Sculpture (October 8–9, 2014) for blind and visually impaired visitors and their close relatives. The main goal of this workshop was to encourage empathy, patience, and understanding.  

Anna She is a professional art therapist, member of the American Art Therapy Association and founder and director of SELF art-therapy studio.
