The course is designed for those interested in learning how to shoot and edit videos. Participants will focus on studying motion in video, working with sound and speech as some of this medium’s main elements, converting words into visual images, and learning the basic Adobe Premiere tools.

Together with the 7th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art participant, Maria Shestakova, the young course members will acquire basic editing skills, learn to combine narrative and image into a single rhythm and use video practices to creatively process information and impressions from the outside world.

The result of the course will be the participants’ own video works, as well as texts and photographs. Presentations of the projects can be visited by friends.

Participants will need to bring their own laptops and smartphones with a camera to the course sessions.

Acquaintance

The group will get acquainted with each other using images, learn the history of various twentieth- and twenty-first-century video practices, and try to repeat the patterns of one of them by exploring the motion principle in video.

Camera Out- and Inside

The session focuses on the skills of writing, storytelling, and concentrated listening. The participants will also get inside the film frame by framing it depending on the nature of the movement.
