This course for children has been designed to explain fundamental architectural terms and categories and provide basic skills in architectural modeling and layouts.

The young audience will be introduced to the practical issues of contemporary architecture via drawing plans and designing basic three-dimensional objects, models of buildings, and public spaces.

An architectural course for children ages 6 years above.

A modern residential building

The young architects will discuss the categories of proportions, façade, and building plans, as well as the notion of the golden ratio in relation to architecture.

Architectural models

The course participants will construct a model of an entire building with multiple details, such as staircases, balconies, and fences.

Introduction to color spectrum

During this session, dedicated to the exploration of color spectrum, the course members will experiment with color overlay and will learn how to produce a new color using two different colors.

Arches

This session introduces the arch as an architectural element. The course members will discuss its evolution from Ancient Rome to the present.

Bridges

The young audience will learn everything about the various types of bridges, including cable and opening ones, and will also have the chance to construct their own models of bridges.

Skyscrapers

This meeting will take the form of a mini game, that will allow the participants to discover interesting facts about architecture’s key principles—functionality, safety, and aesthetic beauty.

Graphic street

The students will find out the meaning of such categories as proportion, contrast, and architectural dominant, before designing their own graphic plans of a street.

Street. Reflection

This classic architectural exercise will demonstrate how to transform a graphic street plan, executed during the previous class, into a three-dimensional model.

City General Plan

The class is based around the theme of master plans of metropolises, such as Moscow, New York or Rome, providing an understanding of how these large cities have been growing, and how their space has to be divided into zones.

City paper models

The group will collectively execute a paper model of a city which will include transport infrastructure, residential housing blocks, cultural and business centers.

Bio-architecture

The final session of the course is devoted to eco-architecture. All participants will present and defend their individual projects in front of parents and other course students.
