Education Center

10 sessions

90 min

The course focuses on the study of modern and contemporary art’s key movements and milestones through acquaintance with the nineteenth and twentieth century’s most influential artists as well as some of their forerunners and successors.

Each movement will be introduced via the juxtaposition, and oftentimes contraposition of selected artists. Claude Monet and Edgar Degas, Kazimir Malevich and Piet Mondrian, Anish Kapoor and James Turrell: the figures in spotlight within this course may resemble each other in terms of visual manner or, alternatively, come up with totally different solutions for similar tasks.

An intense theoretical part will be supplemented with practical sessions dedicated to various creative projects, such as the execution of a cubist artwork, a surrealist painting, a piece using Dada techniques, and the like.

An upgraded version of the much-loved course Following Contemporary Art, Art: Step by Stepis expanded with some new personalities and art movements. The program includes twenty sessions divided into two blocks that can be attended separately in any order, although we recommend beginning with the first block.
