10 sessions

90 min

The course focuses on the study of modern and contemporary art’s key movements and milestones through the acquaintance with selected important artists as well as some of their forerunners and successors.

The second block of the course features noticeable figures in the history of nineteenth and twenty-firstcentury’s art, including Jackson Pollock, Marina Abramović, Ilya Kabakov, Tomas Saraceno, and Olafur Eliasson among many others. A profound theoretical part is accompanied by practical classes focusing on creative projects, such as the development of an original performance and the creation of a ready-made, installation, or a pop art object. The variety of techniques and materials will further help participants to enhance acquired skills and facts and discover new ideas for self-expression.

An upgraded version of the much-loved course Following Contemporary Art, Art: Step by Stepis expanded with some new personalities and art movements. The program includes twenty sessions divided into two blocks that can be attended separately in any order, although we recommend beginning with the first block.
