The Spirit In Any Condition Does Not Burn: Premio FURLA, Young Italian Artists
This book features a superbly illustrated overview of the prestigious 2009 Premio FURLA award for young Italian artists. And the finalists are: Giorgio Andreotta Calo, Meris Angioletti, Giulia Piscitelli, Alberto Tadiello, and Ian Tweedy. The Premio FURLA is Italy's most prestigious art prize in support of its young, contemporary art scene. For the award, ten top curators carried out an extensive review of the output of young Italian artists, resulting in a shortlist of five. These artists were then asked to create a completely new work that demonstrated the full potential of their creative and artistic talent. “The Spirit in Any Condition Does Not Burn” presents a superbly illustrated overview of the entire award process — from the curators' journey through Italian art to the creation of the five new projects from the finalists.
