Friction. International Performance Art Festival 2012

Using the whole city of Uppsala as a canvas or a map, FRICTION took place in possible spaces and venues. A large number of exciting international artists came to present work and exchange. The programming focussed on physicality and action and through a wide definition of a performative physical and visual statements. The encounter with the spectator as well as challenges for the artists were in focus. Art was presented as a means to plunge into the mysteries and beauties of life as well as the hardship of being human.
