Silver (Masterpieces of Jewish art). Серебро

Masterpieces of Jewish Art is a pictorial series of treasures in the countries of the NIS. Silver artifacts play a special role in the artistic heritage of the Jewish people. This volume deals with silver works in Jewish communities in old shtetls of Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, and the Baltic states. According to the 1897 census, Jewish silversmiths made up about half of all jewelers of the Russian empire. The album introduces rare samples of their work.
