Philologist, critic, journalist, and writer Vyacheslav Kuritsyn became active on the Russian literary and art scenes in the early 1990s. His library became part of Garage Library in 2013 and is available to the public. It contains rare editions from the 1990s and 2000s, including poetry by well-known Russian authors such as Mikhail Aizenberg, Elena Fanailova, and Alexander Ilyanen, catalogues of post-perestroika exhibitions, and Kuritsyn’s own publications.

Vyacheslav Kuritsyn (b. 1965, Novosibirsk) studied at Ural State University in Yekaterinburg. He was a regular contributor to Segodnya, Matador, Nezavisimaya gazeta, Kommersant, and Russkii telegraf as well as the editor-in-chief of Tekst magazine and the newspapers Moskovskaya al’ternativa and Neofitsial’naya Moskva. From 1998 to 2002, Kuritsyn ran the online project Contemporary Russian Literature with Vyacheslav Kuritsyn. He is the author of fifteen fiction and non-fiction books, has written productions for the theaters Teatr.doc (Moscow, 2002) and Yekaterinburg Youth Theater, and has curated exhibitions, including Davai (Berlin and Vienna, 2001–2002). He was awarded the Andrei Bely Prize in 2005.
