This book discusses how to conceive a book of pictures as an original expirience rather than reproducing a collection of existing pictures. Group, series and sequence are discussed as the means of pacing and orchestrating the book. This publication includes 453 photographs of books by 145 contemporary book artists from around the world.

In 2012, Garage Center for Contemporary Culture acquired the archive of Art Projects Foundation, which became the core of its own archive collection. In 2014, the Center became Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and its archive became a museum collection. The collection has inherited the structure of the Art Projects Foundation archive and contains documents on Russian contemporary artists and art events, press cuttings, press releases, exhibition booklets, invitations, programs, and posters.
