Gustave Le Gray: Seestücke
Le Gray, who originally studied painting, is also considered the founder of artistic photography. He was one of the first to follow the painters to Fontainebleau and pursue his own photographic nature studies. In the mid‑1850s, he began his sea and cloud studies in Normandy and on the western Mediterranean coast, which instantly made him famous among amateurs and collectors and earned him the admiration of the Impressionists. This volume presents Le Gray's marine series.
