Robert Delaunay. Hommage a Bleriot
This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition “Robert Delaunay — Hommage a Bleriot”, Kunstmuseum Basel, 27.04.-17.08.2008. Robert Delaunay (1885–1941) is one of the first artists of modernity. The color nuance of his works from 1912 to 1914 has increased to a colouristic fireworks. Delaunay’s oeuvre is also about the time-typical fascination for the accelerated perception of the city and the technical achievements. As a leading figure of the avant-garde in Paris he finds a new artistic language. Starting out from the large-scale masterpiece “Hommage a Bleriot” (1914), this crucial work phase of the artist is investigated.
