Date

25 DEC 2020

From December 25, the 2nd Garage Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art A Beautiful Night for All the People can be visited online. With the support of Gazprombank, the Museum’s new partner, a virtual panorama and a video tour of the exhibition are now available.

The virtual panorama encompasses over 70 artworks, supplemented with brief information about the artists. The panorama is accompanied by an integrated podcast featuring art critic, curator of the inaugural Triennial, and Garage Archive curator Sasha Obukhova, who explores the artistic and psychological aspects of the works on view at the Triennial in conversation with psychologist and host of the podcast Tea with a Psychologist Egor Egorov.

The panorama is available in desktop and mobile versions in Russian. You can view it via this link.

The two-part video tour delivered by the Museum's senior tour guide, Anton Dvortsev, includes an overview of the entire Triennial along with five short interviews with selected artists whose work is on display.

The first episode of the video tour features dialogues with Anastasia Keineahnung, Ikuru Kuwajima, and Anton Kushaev. Artists in the second episode include Karina Sadreeva-Nurieva and Sergei Filatov.

The first part of the tour is available here, with the second due for release in early 2021.

“Garage Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art is one of the Museum’s flagship projects aimed at supporting Russian artists. Today, when the exhibition space is closed, the digital version of the Triennial provides a worldwide audience with access to the exhibition. Digitization was possible thanks to our partnership with Gazprombank, which valued the Museum’s contribution to culture during the pandemic and decided to launch a partnership with our institution at this special moment,” commented Anton Belov, Director of Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.

In 2021, with the support of Gazprombank, we will create a joint public lecture cycle about contemporary art. Gazprombank cardholders will be able to visit the Museum for free on certain days.

“Today we are pleased to announce the launch of the first project developed in partnership with Garage. We are confident that the convenience of the digitized version of the 2nd Garage Triennial will bring contemporary art closer to viewers of different generations and inspire emerging artists to create unique works. Gazprombank has long supported initiatives in the field of arts and culture, both preserving existing values and looking at the world from an alternative perspective, creating beautiful things for a better future,” said Anastasia Smirnova, Vice President and Head of Marketing and Communication at Gazprombank.
