A new stage in the partnership between Garage and Ingosstrakh: supporting contemporary art, providing access to knowledge, fostering dialogue between art professionals and enthusiasts.

Ingosstrakh is Garage’s official insurance partner and covers risks for the Museum’s buildings. Launched in 2015, the insurer’s partnership with Garage became an important step in expanding its collaboration with the biggest Russian and international museums, including The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, The Hermitage, The State Russian Museum, and the Tretyakov Gallery.

The partnership between Garage and Ingosstrakh is based on a shared ambition to offer people an improved quality of life and exciting experiences. The four years of the partnership have seen Garage visitors participate in workshops, lectures and tours, explore contemporary art during finissages, and take part in competitions to visit the world’s biggest art fair, Art Basel in Switzerland and the USA, and retrace the trajectory of artist Marcel Broodthaers in Belgium.

Garage’s activities are aimed at supporting Russian contemporary art, making knowledge accessible and fostering dialogue between art professionals and enthusiasts.

In 2019, Ingosstrakh will be supporting Garage’s grant program for young Russian artists. Launched in 2012, the program allows emerging artists to grow professionally, conduct research, and become part of the international contemporary art scene. In 2019/2020, seven winners will be awarded a monthly fellowship of 40,000 rubles.

In addition to that, Ingosstrakh will invite the fifty-six artists and groups who received Garage grants from 2012 to 2018 to take part in a competition for the best visual solution for the insurer’s marketing campaign.

On May 25, Garage will invite visitors to the finissage of Rasheed Araeen. A Retrospective and Pavel Pepperstein’s solo exhibition The Human as a Frame for the Landscape. On that day, visitors can see both exhibitions for free, take part in the 4th GARAGE ART BOOK FAIR, and enjoy Rasheed Araeen’s performance Disco Sailing in Gorky Park’s Pionersky Pond.

As part of the public program for The Coming World: Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100 (June 28–December 1) Garage and Ingosstrakh will present a series of discussions Time for the Future, where leading experts will discuss various scenarios for the future of human society and the challenges that scientific progress poses for cultural, social, and financial institutions of today—including insurance firms.
