Date

Schedule

19:30–21:00

Place

West Gallery

DESCRIPTION

Anna Tagantseva-Kobzeva will talk about her artistic, organizational, and educational activities and will propose a joint practice on forming and analyzing ideas about the contemporary.

Anna Tagantseva-Kobzeva’s creative activities are transmedial. She works with painting, sculpture, installation, video, and digital means of production, contrasting in her work archaic and contemporary visual codes and focusing on the ethics and aesthetics incorporated in the materials she uses. She is also in regular contact with international artist-run spaces and other local and niche initiatives that are often based online and runs educational intensives for the professional community. The aim of this activity is to exchange practical skills and aesthetic impressions that form and determine the markers of contemporaneity. The search for such images is necessary in order to better orient oneself in the present day, to expand the possibilities for individual and collective action, and to establish strong positionalities in artistic and research practice. Together with participants, the artist will run a similar collective research practice and discussion.
