Description

Scribbles: a preschool psychoanalytic support group
For children aged 5-7

October 7, 2014 – May 31, 2015
Lesson format: 180 min. (including 15 minute breaks)

Scribbles is a psychoanalytic group designed to prepare kids for the challenges of school life. The main aim of the lessons is to teach the child important skills that will come in handy when beginning to socialize in the school environment, such as being open to new information and the ability to communicate freely with peers and teachers. The teachers and psychologists running the classes will monitor not only your child’s learning process but also his or her behavior in various social situations.

Each session consists of a series of half-hour lessons in the following four disciplines: “Letter” and “Number,” since reading, writing, and math will be the principle activities with which your child will engage at school, and “Note” and “Art,” topics aimed at developing kids’ creativity. Each of these subjects is taught by professionals in the given fields – musicians, art historians, art critics, etc. The lessons are complete with regular breaks, which are designed as specially structured play sessions involving professional psychologists.

The project involves regular meetings with parents, who will have the opportunity to discuss such issues as choice of school, your child’s behavior, and relationships within the family.

Lessons may be attended on a one-off basis; however, regular sessions are more effective and thus highly recommended.

Enrollment requires an interview with a teacher.
