Spectacular dystopia about smartphone dependency, image ecology, and memory in modern world.
To criticize the all-consuming world of smartphones, the picture by the design team METAHAVEN and documentalist Rob Schroeder balances between an abstract documentary and a fantastic landscape. The heroine, a millennial, (Olivia Lonsdale) discovers a forgotten past among the post-communist ruins and turns to childhood memories in search of new collectivism and empathy. In the breaks, political thinkers Alex Williams and Nick Srnicek come forward with theoretical comments.
