Participants will discuss the current state of the Russian market for print and the agenda formed by the questions from the print market’s participants and guests.
Is it possible to produce quality prints when the number of print shops in the country is very limited? What do we do with the Soviet printing legacy and how do we preserve and archive the heritage without an institution for it? Who collects and buys prints today? Who are prints made for? How do digital and analogue printing techniques coexist and influence each other? How is a poster different from a print? Along with these questions, participants will discuss the potential of printing in contemporary art and the difficulties associated with the sale and promotion of prints and the lack of printing education institutions.
