DESCRIPTION

Participants will find out how Chinese New Year emerged, how it differs from our New Year celebrations and how fireworks were invented.

Together with the teacher, they will discuss Chinese New Year traditions: food, decorations, and the significance of lanterns.

During the practical part, participants will make lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year.

ABOUT THE THEACHER

Nastya Kopysova is an art historian and tutor of children’s programs and tours. She organizes art courses at the Young Art Historian School of Moscow State University.
