The Cave of Dancing Animals by Cécile Alix is set in the time where people lived in caves, slept on animal skins, and cooked over a fire.
The main character, a boy named Thaïm, is not good at hunting, and his dad thinks he is afraid of animals. But Thaïm is not afraid—he has a secret. Every night he goes out with a torch in his hands. Where does he go? Participants will read the book together to find the answer.
The group will discuss the life of prehistoric people and cave painting, talking about what ancient people painted and how. At the workshop, participants will make their own shadow puppets, which they can try out in the magic tent where all the puppets will come to life!
