Combining the aesthetics of mumblecore with the classical tragedy, the story follows a young director putting on a play at a care home.
He spends ages trying to find an actor for the lead role and in the end chooses Alexei, who has just arrived at the care home. The old man’s fate is intertwined with the story of King Lear, starting with the scene in which he is brought to the care home by his two elegantly dressed granddaughters. Along with professional theater and film actors, the film stars residents of a care home.
The film will be screened in Yakut with Russian subtitles.
