Garage presents the Russian premiere of Darren Aronofsky’s mysterious thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Not much is known of the plot of Darren Aronofsky’s new film: a man and a woman live in a luxurious country house. The man, Alfred, is a well-known poet with a cult following. The woman, Veronica, is pregnant. Their idyllic life is disturbed when a strange man rings their bell and Alfred invites him to stay… Tearing the fabric of reality, this encounter reveals the hidden horrors of the couple’s country life, uncovering dark mysteries about Alfred’s past and the unborn baby’s future.

Even after its screening at the 74th Venice Film Festival, Mother! remains a mystery, as Aronofsky (who already has a Golden Lion for Wrestler, 2008) is in no rush to comment on his new release and in fact does everything to prevent any leaks—so viewers can expect to be surprised by the development of the story as well as horrified.

Exclusive invitations to special screenings for Garage members and their guests are an inherent part of GARAGE cardholders’ benefits. The
premiere of the new film by a cult director is the final event in Garage Screen’s summer program of special screenings.
