DESCRIPTION

Having received his education at a Waldorf school, based on a secular pedagogical system developed by the Austrian philosopher, esotericist, and founder of anthroposophy Rudolf Steiner, and had experience of living in a Waldorf community in Nikolsk from 2020 to 2022, artist Ivan Klyuchnikov continues to seek new painterly forms and images in alternative world systems and religious traditions.

Ivan’s artistic method is based on the anthroposophical perception of reality, incorporating elements of a natural scientific understanding of the world and the transformation of images. For the artist this is a tool for self-analysis and a source of keen interest in life.

Years of research into the hermetic tradition, the tarot arcana, cosmogenic myths, socionics, and other informal means of understanding the world produced in the artist a feeling of spiritual cold and escapism. During the meeting at Garage, Ivan will talk about how he is overcoming this crisis, his attempts to combine the artistic and the esoteric in his work, and how love and empathy give birth to a feeling of something genuine.

«I talk about my painting as tool of research. This tool was given to me by God. Contemporary reality, which produces the need to use this tool, inspires me to register, transform, and foretell my life and the situations and events in it. I expose things with my creativity: a multitude of worldviews, symbols, and traditions that are regulated, proven, and revealed in the paint on the canvas, forming a perceptible understanding of the universal and the truth. I want to talk about the image, warmth, and honesty in my art and about how it gives me strength.» Ivan Klyuchnikov.
