Sinii Karandash is an anonymous artist who for more than a decade has been leaving statements on walls and other surfaces across the world.
His signature element comprises laconic and witty phrases commenting on space and time and referring to the events and conditions that affect each of us, both separately and together.
The artist touches on themes of public memory and its forms and the life and death of historical heritage, and explores methods of pointed poetization of reality and the effects of random social and artistic interactions.
At the meeting Sinii Karandash will show and comment on selected projects and express his view on the boundary between street art, tactical urbanism, and poetic expression.
This strategy of anonymous yet genre-defying and extremely democratic expression can also be found in the artist’s collaboration with Garage. From November 29, Garage Café will be offering the Sinii Karandash Latte, which is made with anchan blue tea, blueberries, lavender and cornflower. The first 100 cups will be served on coasters drawn by the artist, which visitors can take home.
In Garage Shop you can purchase a limited edition of spherical mirrors entitled Comment on Your Reflection, which incorporate the artist’s signature blue inscriptions.
