Garage Studios resident Alina Kugush invites you to fantasize about the abilities and conditions needed to feel like superheroes; how we would look if we had the gift of changing life in a moment.
Alina will help with a brief historical overview of masters of transformation in contemporary art and a short description of her own method. Working with various media, from watercolor to video installation, Kugush regularly uses makeup as a method. «For me, makeup-art is a continuation of painting on the surface of the face. It can be total makeup that changes the geometry of the face, with the attachment of objects, wigs, redrawing of brows, or maybe a light color layer to go with an outfit or for an event.»
