DESCRIPTION

During a live session, members of the podcast This is a Fail will share their personal stories about living with a disability and speak about self-realization, body, and sexuality conditioned by permanent attention from society.

The host of the podcast Kristina Vazovsky will ask her guests a number of “shameful” questions, such as: how to speak about disability without offending anyone; how to find a partner if you cannot physically make it to a meeting point; how to handle loneliness and the focused attention of others. Vazovsky is expecting to hear the personal stories of the women who have to live and cope with a disability every day.

Answering her questions will be Alyona Levina and Ira Kolesnikova. Alyona is an activist and artist with muscular dystrophy, co-organizer of the festival Women. Disability. Feminism which took place at Peresvetov Lane Gallery on March 15 to 17, 2019. Ira Kolesnikova is business coordinator. She has spinal muscular atrophy.

This is a Fail is a podcast dedicated to situations where “something went wrong.” For the guests of Kristina Vazovsky, author and host of the show, a fail is a starting point for a conversation about complicated and important things, such as fear, shame, love, and one’s relationship with oneself. To discuss these and other issues, she invites journalists, business people, artists, and activists who openly share their stories, otherwise rarely mentioned and discussed in the age of perfectly polished Instagram lives.
