British soul superstar-in-waiting Lianne La Havas, described by Q Magazine as sounding ‘like she’s at the top of her game’ will be playing at Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.
This touching and poignant concert at Garage will feature songs from her hit album Blood. Lianne wrote the lyrics to most of her songs herself, her music an autobiographical reference to her Greek and Jamaican roots, as well as a study of life in the modern world.
Lianne La Havas is a songwriter and composer. Born in London to Greek-Jamaican parents, La Havas released her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough, in 2012. It was named ITunes Album of the Year, and nominated for the Mercury Prize as well as an Ivor Novello Award. Her second album, Blood, released in 2015, was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category. La Havas has collaborated with Prince—who released his album Art Official Age with Lianne featuring throughout the album—Alt-J and Rudimental. La Havas has also supported Coldplay and Bon Iver on tour as well as Alicia Keys at her MTV performance at Manchester Cathedral.
