DESCRIPTION

Discover how artists capture their time in an exhibition of Robert Longo’s large drawings, etchings by Francisco Goya, and stills from Sergei Eisenstein’s films. Tours include audio description of works and tactile exploration of models.

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. According to Robert Longo, this quote from George Santayana sums up his ideas on his own place in art history, as well as his approach to making art. Longo’s works are large charcoal replicas of imagery that surrounds us in our daily lives—photographs used in the news and advertising, as well as works by other artists. The exhibition also includes works by Francisco Goya and Sergei Eisenstein who, like Longo, have captured some of the most important aspects of their time with their black and white images.

During the tour, visitors will also explore works by Pablo Picasso and Rembrandt.

Tours include audio description of works and tactile exploration of models.

The tour has been developed by Garage’s Inclusive Programs Manager Galina Novotortseva
