Family program on Gorky Park birthday (0+)

Description

On Saturday, August 24, 2013, Gorky Park will celebrate its 85th anniversary. Garage Center for Contemporary Culture invites children and their parents to take part in the festive events on the Gorky Park territory.

From noon till 4 pm Open weekend workshops will be held at the Education Center. Mentors will discuss friendship and cultural diversity with participants of all ages and try to find out what stands behind the word involvement. Children will provide their answers using brushes and paints to create colorful sails that will become part of the Ship of Tolerance installation.

For children aged 4+.

At 5 pm a family jazz concert will take place at the Education Center featuring works by George Gershwin, Henry Miller, Harry Warren, and Lester Young. The listeners will enjoy popular jazz standards, learn about the history of the genre, and take a closer look at musical instruments. The performers include Meritorious Artist of Russia Elina Firsova (violin) and laureate of international festivals Oleg Dorogov (guitar).

For children aged 0+ and their parents.

The entrance to all events on August 24 is free.
