Museum educators will introduce youngsters and adults with the theory and practice of Vyacheslav Koleichuk—a legendary Soviet and Russian artist, designer and inventor, creator of the incredible “tin” reality featured in the cult sci-fi movie Kin-Dza-Dza.
Installed on the square in front of the Museum, participants will have the chance to witness Atom—a reconstruction of the artist’s monumental kinetic work first executed in 1968. The teachers will explain how these constructions remain stable, what the term “self-stressed structure” means, will introduce the listeners to the basics of form-making and the technical implications of stereography. During the practical part, participants will try to design original models using self-stressed structures as their analogue.
