"Expanding the Narrative in Contemporary Art"

DESCRIPTION

A lecture by Belgian artist and author of experimental graphic novels Dominique Goblet.

Throughout her career in contemporary art and graphic novels, Dominique Goblet has been pushing the boundaries of the medium and breaking codes.

The stories Goblet tells, linear and not, are presented as drawn dialogues that play with graphic novel convention. Exhibiting them in museum and gallery spaces, she allows visual images to deeply affect the narrative, and rises the questions of the essence of contemporary art and the place that the graphic novel occupies in it today.

Dominique Goblet’s visit to Russia has been supported by Wallonie-Bruxelles International.
