Guide to Developing and Running Mediation Programs

The Guide to Developing and Running Mediation Programs, edited by Marina Romanova, curator of the mediation program at Garage, sums up eight years of the Museum’s experience in the field.

The publication covers theoretical issues and offers practical guidance: from the specificity of mediation as opposed to other forms of interaction with the audience and the particularities of working with mediators to budgeting advice and recommendations on planning PR campaigns.

«Developing and running mediation programs is a labor-intensive and time-consuming task. The unpredictability of results in experimental in-depth interactions with visitors might scare people at first, but the living, dynamic nature of mediation can open up new perspectives for the audience and shake up the institution’s team, inspiring those involved in the process to move forward. We hope that our guide will become a useful aid for those making their first steps in mediation and facilitate a comfortable learning process, ” says Marina Romanova.
