Description

The first science fiction film of the cinema history (filmed in 1902!) is now shown in colour. Researchers worked a long time to make it possible for people to see the parody by Melies based on contemporaries of the novels The First Men on the Moon by Herbert Wells and From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne. A spaceship formed as a shell is launched by a gunshot and gets into the Moon’s eye. Apart from colour the masterpiece of the XX century is enriched with modern sound. Famous masters of electronic music have not only written a soundtrack but also borrowed a historical shot for the cover of the disc.

Screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2012.

In the framework of the Deconstruction of Сinematic Realities Film Program.
