Sudoeste is the first full-length feature film by the Brazilian Eduardo Nunes. Some art critics associate black-and-white landscapes with films of a Hungarian metaphysicist Bela Tarra, others – with films by Tarkovsky. Nunes deconstructs life of the main heroine Klarisa. She is pregnant and in the morning she dies in a hotel. Then she is revived as a baby, later as a little girl, a teenager and finally as an adult woman. Christian and mythological allusions are woven into these mosaic transformations.
The director will attend the Russian premier.
