The variety of animation techniques used today is seemingly limitless. From hand-drawn animation to pinscreen; CGI graphics to freezelight; woodcarving to animated liquids – each technique has its own particular characteristics and boundaries. In this lecture, Maria Tereshenko – a specialist in animated film and the Director of the Big Cartoon Fest – will reveal the secret language of animation, with a special focus on the art of Claymation.

Maria Tereshchenko (born 1977) – graduated the Moscow State University with a philology degree in 1999. Maria is the author of numerous publications on animation. She initiated and organized animation festivals in Moscow. She curated and organized special programs at the annual festivals of animation cinema.
