This family course for kids aged eight and older and their parents combines an introduction to the history of architectural styles and forms with practice to develop spatial thinking.

In each class, participants work on their own projects, planning the city of the future, making stained glass windows or constructing bridges. The combination of theory and practice allows them to get a better feeling of space, shape, proportion, and composition.

The course consists of 22 classes in two blocks: 11 classes from February to May and 11 classes from September to December. Participants may subscribe to either segment; however, it is recommended to start with the first block.

ABOUT THE COURSE INSTRUCTORS

 
Anastasia Golovina

Anastasia Golovina is an architect, artist, and teacher, specializing in pre-university education in architecture. Golovina graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 2002 and has been an architect at the Central Research and Restoration Project Workshop since 2003. She has taken part in the restoration of the Kuzminki mansion in Moscow. In 2008 and 2009 Golovina was a lecturer at the Moscow Institute of Architecture’s School of Architectural Development.

 
Ekaterina Uzbasheva

Ekaterina Uzbasheva is a teacher and curator with a degree from Moscow Institute of Architecture. She curated and participated in a series of architectural exhibitions and projects, including Museum of Design (2010), Facelift (2010), Sretenka Design Week (2011), Mosgorpark (2012), and Micro House Festival at Muzeon Park of Arts (2013). Uzvasheva gave lectures and workshops at Moscow Central House of Architects as part of The Architectural Alternative project.
