Architectural Guide Zagreb 1898–2010

In this guide, selection is catalogued by means of a standard procedure. Units are numbered in chronological order, classified according to a territorial key with reference to the coordinates system of the matching cartographic section. The name is used to mark the original client and/or purpose with denotation of present purpose or name, if significant changes have occurred in the meantime. Dates in principle refer to the time of construction, and possible deviations are noted in the commentary/ explanation of individual units. After the current address, the author(s) are listed, and occasionally also other significant associates in a realization. Units are illustrated with a recent photograph and uniformly presented formative blueprint, and in several cases in which a more significant degradation of original substance has occurred, the original state is documented with an archive photograph. Cartographic presentations are in different scales — a more detailed and larger scale for the city centre with denser incidence of the chosen buildings, and a smaller scale for the outskirts of the city. Street names have been left in Croatian to facilitate searching on the map. For additional searches through the guide, an index of authors with references to the numeration of matching units and their territorial positioning is enclosed.
