This catalogue was published on the occasion of group exhibition “INDIA: Public Places, Private Spaces — Contemporary Photography and Video Art” at The Newark Museum in 2007. Devoted to contemporary photography and video art in India, this show was comprised of over 100 works that vividly reflect the interior and exterior realities of today's India. Featured are works of 28 photographers and video artists, including Raghu Rai and the late Raghubir Singh, and emerging talents such as Tejal Shah and Shilpa Gupta. Each artist has used his or her medium to provide rich insights into the dynamics shaping the contemporary Indian psyche.
