Robert Adams: Eden
This is a photobook featuring one of Robert Adams's earliest bodies of work, originally created in the fall of 1968. At that time, Adams, then a college English teacher, was drawn to photograph a nondescript area south of Colorado Springs, Colorado‑most notably a truck stop off the interstate near the small town called Eden. The photographs capture this seemingly graceless and unremarkable landscape with unflinching descriptiveness but also convey a quietly radiant peace.
