Barcelona, Gaudí and Modernism

Due to the uniqueness of modernisn in Barcelona the city hall and the city council decided to promote a tour around the Modernist architectural heritage of the city, aiming at helping the inhabitants and visitors to discover and appreciate these splendid works. This tour takes in fifty constructions, including private homes, prestigious shops, emblematic restaurants and museums. Fifteen buildings have been chosen for this guide‑book. They are explained and displayed with photos, plans and in texts which synthesize their essential history and some of the most significant architectural features. The second part of the book deals with the rest of the works. A detailed plan of the city is included together with the recommendations of official organizations for the best route to be followed. There is also practical, and vital, information about timetables and public transport so that any visitors can easily get around and visit sites.
