The legendary performance artist Tehching Hsieh produced less than a dozen works in his entire career. For his first performance, Jump (1973), he jumped onto a concrete floor from the second- floor window of his house in Taiwan, breaking both ankles. The performance was filmed on a Super 8 camera, but Hsieh later destroyed the footage, leaving only six photographs as evidence of the work.
