DESCRIPTION

On April 20, 2019, Garage will host an open day for its master's program Curatorial Practices in Contemporary Art that will be launched this autumn in partnership with National Research University—Higher School of Economics.

The program’s academic convenor Ekaterina Inozemtseva and the head of Garage’s joint program with HSE Maria Polnikova will speak about the course and admission requirements, and answer questions.

The event follows the lecture Dreams. Art. Psychoanalysis.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Ekaterina Inozemtseva is a senior curator at Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. She graduated in Philology from Moscow State University in 2004 and subsequently obtained her Candidate’s Degree in Philology there in 2007. From 2003 to 2004, she worked in the Department of Experimental Programs at the National Center for Contemporary Arts. From 2004 to 2005, she was a curator at Gary Tatintsian Gallery (Moscow) and from 2006 to 2011 a curator and deputy art director at Proun Gallery (Moscow). From 2011 to 2014 she was chief curator and deputy director at Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, where she curated over fifty projects. Inozemtseva has been a curator at Garage since 2014 and a senior curator since 2017. She has written for exhibition catalogues and art periodicals and was awarded Kariatida Prize in 2013.


Maria Polnikova is the head of Garage’s academic programs and deputy head of HSE’s Joint Department with Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. She graduated in Law from HSE in 2005 and received her Doctoral Candidate’s Degree at HSE in 2013. She is an expert in transport infrastructure and cooperation between the state and the private sector. She is a special projects advisor to the chair of Avtodor (the State Company Russian Highways) and a lecturer at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. In 2010 she became the first director of the Open School of Law at HSE’s Faculty of Law.
