MASTERCLASSES ON ARCHITECTURE
Saturdays and Sundays, 13:00 to 17:00
For children over 5 and their creatively-minded parents.
Free entrance

Open weekend workshops are a place where both children and their parents can create unusual and surprising «works of art» with their own hands and face the most diverse practical assignments which cover an entire arsenal of artistic media.

This month we will be holding a series of Saturday master-classes on architecture. Kids and their parents alike will have the opportunity to personally create three multi-scale pieces of architecture, and improve their understanding of the basics of architecture, proportions and scale relative to «me».

The Interior

The basics of analyzing any architectural structure are formed through comprehending its scale and proportions. The first workshop session will be about creating the interior of your dreams. You will use all available materials to invent and create proportionate furniture for your room, figure out the scale of a human living in it, and the dimensions of a chair or table for your little denizen.

The House

When looking at the facade of a house, have you ever taken note of the location, height, shape of it's windows, or entrance? An architect designing a house cannot just do as he likes, as there are certain patterns that help unite the whole structure into a single arrangement. How about we also try and design out own unique house! What will the windows be like in your house? What shape will the roof be? Will you have any steps, and where will you place the front door? A volumetric slice (???) of part of your house will allow you to look at the room you created on the previous session.

Volume and Flatness

What are volume and flatness in space? What methods do we use to add dimension to a figure in space? On this weekend's workshop we will be making chalks with our own hands to create one-dimensional images, then moving on to three-dimensional mini-installations out of stationery.
