DESCRIPTION

The Delegation of the European Union to the Russian Federation and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, in partnership with Life Path Foundation, have organized a series of events on the right to independence, entitled Inclusion as an Instrument of Personal Experience

The series explores the themes of adulthood and the independence of people with disabilities. People with disabilities cannot fully enjoy their right to an independent and dignified life as they are often not perceived by society as subjects. Experts from the European Union and Russia will discuss best practice in the areas of assisted living, sex education, assistance, and the organization of accessible spaces, and will try to find workable solutions that will make life freer and happier for everyone.

The experts will address three themes in lectures, presentations and workshops: “Independent living,” “The right to love: sex and disability,” and “Accessible spaces and inclusion.”
