DESCRIPTION

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and Ingosstrakh invite visitors to the closing of the exhibition The Other Trans-Atlantic. Kinetic and Op Art in Eastern Europe and Latin America 1950s – 1970s.

This continues the series of special events organized as part of Garage and Ingosstrakh's partnership program, introducing visitors to some of the key and most exciting phenomena in contemporary art.

As a bonus, on this day all registered users will also get a chance to see the two other projects of the spring season: If our soup can could speak: Mikhail Lifshitz and the Soviet Sixties and Andro Wekua’s show Dolphin in the Fountain.

The Other Trans-Atlantic is the first major exhibition in the country of kinetic and op art from eastern Europe and Latin America, produced in partnership with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. The project gathers more than one hundred artworks from the postwar period to the end of the 1970s, including kinetic sculptures, paintings, drawings, films, and installations, as well as unique archival materials.

Discover more information about the show with a specially prepared audio guide for the exhibition. It will be distributed free of charge on the day of the closing to all Garage visitors at the information desk or on SoundCloud.
